It takes a church. The bachelors competed through three elimination rounds. First, Angela joined each of them at a different part of a church fundraiser. While the pastor, his wife, and matchmakers watched closely, the singles made small talk and flirted. In the second round, Angela had her sense of personal agency returned to her—she got to make the choice, finally! For the final round, the top two contestants each got to take Angela on a date. After bowling with Nick whom she was shocked to learn was committed to celibacy!

GSN announced today that it has green-lit the new original series IT TAKES A CHURCH, with Grammy® Nominee and multi Dove Award.
The Christian game show, presented by five-time Dove Award winner and Christian recording artist Natalie Grant, travels to different churches across the country and chooses a single unsuspecting member of the church to be presented with a number of potential suitors. The single person, along with members of the congregation and the pastors, then help whittle down the suitors to one winner through various challenges.
Laakso, 28, was notified two weeks before the show came to Gillette that she was one of the finalists. She was told she would find out on the first day of filming if she had been selected. She only found out when Grant tapped her on the shoulder while the camera was rolling the first day. The shock value continued throughout the show, not giving Laakso any idea of what to expect or the twists and turns the show would take. To add to the ambush, Laakso had to make her choices with lights on and cameras rolling, without even a draft of a script in her hands.
I found that it came fairly naturally to me. It will air sometime in April. Aulisio said the program is different from any other dating show because of the challenges and the matchmaking aspect. We try to choose different congregations that represent different regions of the country.
